What to Expect:
ltherapy™ is a relatively comfortable treatment, and most patients experience only mild discomfort during the procedure. A topical numbing cream may be applied to ensure your comfort. During the treatment, you will feel a sensation of warmth and gentle pulses of ultrasound energy as the device is moved across the treatment area. Treatment time typically takes between 30 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

Avoid excessive sun exposure for two weeks prior (includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds).

Excessive hair over the treatment area should be shaved.

Avoid skin irritants 3 days prior to treatment (Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ascorbic acid, astringents, etc.

Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)

Ultherapy is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tried and true ultrasound technology to stimulate the formation of new collagen deep below the skin's surface. The procedure takes approximately 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the area(s) treated. It is also the only procedure that uses ultrasound imaging, which allows our providers to view the layers of tissue targeted during the treatment and ensure the energy is deposited precisely to where it will be the most effective.
There is no downtime after an Ultherapy treatment. After your treatment, you can immediately resume your regular day!
Since Ultherapy stimulates a patient's own collagen production, results depend on the individual. While most results appear over the first 2-3 months, results may improve over the next 3-6 months and can last up to a year or more. The treatment produces collagen on the inside, though the individual's natural aging process will dictate long the results show on the surface. Future touch-up treatments can help provide more control over the aging process, which differs between patients.
As the ultrasound energy is being delivered, you may feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths, stimulating the collagen-building process. Comfort levels vary between patients, but the sensation only lasts as long as the energy is being delivered.
Most patients see optimal results after just one session. However, some individuals may benefit from additional treatments depending on the severity of skin laxity and their aesthetic goals. Your provider will recommend a treatment plan tailored to you.

Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the procedure, especially in areas with more skin laxity. However, the discomfort is temporary and varies from patient to patient. Topical numbing creams can be applied to enhance comfort during the procedure.
